The idea of your blog being secure is probably not one you have given much time to. After all, for most bloggers it’s primarily a hobby, something that you do for pleasure. When you’re doing something for little more than the sake of enjoying it, why would you want to spend time thinking about such dull things?
Of course, for the professional bloggers (or those aspiring to be professional bloggers), there are a few things that need to be taken into consideration. If your blog is your little corner of the internet – basically, your home online – then security is something you need to think about. After all, you wouldn’t leave the door wide open to your real life home, would you? So why should your digital one be any different?
If you’re already a blogger, you will know that although blogging can be a lot of fun, and even quite lucrative for many, it can also be scary and upsetting at times. When you’re putting yourself out there, there are always going to be people who disagree with you and go out of their way to upset you and make you feel like throwing in the towel completely.
Although you should never let these cowardly trolls who hide behind online anonymity stop you from doing the thing you love, it’s sensible to do what you can to protect yourself and stay safe as a blogger.
If you’ve recently started a new blog, you’re probably aware of the difficulties you face. There are millions of websites on the internet these days. That means finding your audience can seem like a lot of hard work. However, there are thousands of professional bloggers around the world. So, you’re joining an industry that’s currently thriving.
Today, I’m going to give you some tips and advice on making your first steps. We’ve been at it for almost two years now, so I know how difficult it can be trying to find your feet when there’s so many others out there. These three pieces of information below will help to ensure your articles reach as many readers as possible. They will also show you how to encourage those people to come back for more. Of course, this isn’t an exact science, and so you need to try lots of different ideas until you find something that works for you.
It’s that time of the month again! This is the third month that Oh My Blog has been a thing and it’s growing at a pace I could never have imagined and I’m having so much fun putting it together and running it. Whilst March’s edition is still in full swing (and you can check it out right here!) the sign ups are now opening for April’s edition, which is based on Food & Celebrations – because I can’t think of 15 questions purely based on Easter Eggs and chocolate.
Oh My Blog! is a linky with a difference. It’s designed specifically for one reason, really. To help increase Domain Authority of the blogs that participate. I’ll not go into detail about what Domain Authority is, but if you’re looking for your blog to be found then you need it. The way to get it, is guest posts linking back to your blog.
Oh My Blog is a monthly interview series, where fellow bloggers come together to answer a series of questions on a specific theme. This is a chance to get acquainted with a whole range of bloggers, some of whom you may not have heard of before, and learn a little more about them!
This month, the theme is Mums (because it’s Mother’s Day soon!) and we’re hosting the wonderful Isabella from Fijian in the UK.
I’m really excited to share this beautiful post from Isabella, in tribute to her late mum Asinate. It made my heart melt the moment that I read it and is so fitting for Mother’s Day coming up in a few weeks because it shows just how important it is to remember even the little things about those no longer with us. I love learning about fellow bloggers, and in this instance I am very privileged to host Isabella and her wonderful mum, who may not be with us anymore but sounds like a truly amazing lady.
You should absolutely go and have a look at Isabella’s fantastic blog and follow her on social media… after you’ve read this post, of course.
It’s March! Spring is officially here – the days are going to get lighter, brighter and more colourful with the changing of the seasons. Awards season is drawing to a close, the build-up to Easter is about to begin and sadly, that means it’s the month where lent is a thing. This month, I’m back with another round-up of blog post ideas for March.
March brings us St Patrick’s Day, International Womens’ Day, Ash Wednesday (and lent!) and of course, Mother’s Day. With so many topics to cover, we’ve got a whole host of different ideas for you to sink your teeth into.
