Tattoo Regrets – Blogtober Day #16

Piercings and tattoos… it’s a bit of a cringeworthy subject to be honest. I have (and have had) both. Obviously the tattoos are still here but the vast majority of my piercings are long gone. Fact is, I haven’t had a new tattoo or piercing in ten years.18 year old Amy, about to go to University and generally a bit of a plonker thought they were awesome. 28 year old Amy, who has a husband, a son and a career, thinks they’re a bit shit. Regrets, I have them, yes.

But, as part of the Blogtober challenge, I have to talk about them. So talk about them I will… begrudgingly though.

The Mega Drive Made Me Who I am – Blogtober Day #6

For Day #6 of Blogtober, we have been challenged to discuss our favourite Christmas or Birthday present. The challenge of this for me is picking my favourite. In part because I’ve had some really amazing ones, especially recently, and because I can’t remember most old ones. I’d love to be able to pick the advent calendar that Wes made for me the first year we were together, but it wasn’t really a Christmas present. So after a lot of thought, I’ve gone for the Mega Drive, which helped develop one of my main extra-curricular passions:

Video games.

My Big Fat Flaky ‘Secret’ – Blogtober Day #4

standard October 4, 2016 3 responses

Today’s Blogtober theme is sharing a secret about yourself. Mine isn’t a secret from people who know me, but it is a secret in terms of my blogger self. I haven’t ever shared anything about it until today so for day four of Blogtober, we’re talking about something that affects me massively every day, but I don’t know how to spell it without Google. This is seborrheic dermatitis.

And it’s awful.

It’s a skin condition… it doesn’t hurt, it doesn’t even really harm me and I know I shouldn’t complain but I am. I’m complaining because it means that I can’t do things that I used to love: I can’t sit in a scalding hot bath for an hour and come out looking like a lobster. I can’t wear make-up anymore without looking like a snake that is part-way through shedding its skin. Wanna wear black Amy? Nah, mate, speckled white with flakes of your face. In the grand scheme of things, these things aren’t big and there are people going through way worse things than I am.

But this ‘disease’ is driving me up the wall.

Sunday Snapshot: Blogtober Day #2

standard October 2, 2016 1 response

Sunday Snapshot time! So today for Blogtober, we’ve been challenged to post an old photograph of ourselves and this is as old as I dare. So it might not be Thursday but we are throwing back to the golden year of 1992 (making me four years old!), the year I started school and this is the ragtag bunch I spent my formative years with. I remember the vast majority of them and I have a good number of them on Facebook. I think the teacher on the right still works in the same school teaching the reception classes too.

Primary school holds a lot of awesome memories for me (and some cringworthy ones) so I can’t wait for Mason to get there… I know I have a few more years to wait. Instead, I’ll leave you with this, the oldest picture I can find of me. I’m circled in pink, incase you struggle locating me among the headache inducing nineties fashion!

Happy Sunday!
