Mugpods.com Poddies Review

Service interruption from Wes:

I tasted, deliberated and discussed these drinks with Amy over the last week or so. They’re great, and her review is mostly on the money… I just, as per usual, have a slight difference of opinion: The hot chocs are the hands down winners. I mean, the milkshakes are great and sugar free is greater but that mint and (this one is unfair because I’ve only tried it today without Amy present) hazelnut! Wow. I’m in love. Already placed my order for more (shhh, don’t tell Amy).

Head down towards the end of Amy’s musings for a chance to win a load of mugpod goodness! Woop.

George Clooney has made damn sure that Nespresso machines are all the rage with females everywhere. Having pride of place in the kitchen, the trendy little gadget will keep coffee running through the veins of any tired parent from dawn to dusk. However, what happens if you don’t fancy coffee? Turn the kettle on? Pssh. We’ve got a better idea.

Rather, the guys over at mugpods.com have a better idea. mugpods are the only UK distributor of Nespresso compatible pods that don’t contain the ‘C’ word (well, that’s a lie, they do have some coffee but that’s not what we’re interested in!) instead they offer four flavours of hot chocolate and three awesome flavours of sugar free milkshake. So now even the kids can get their fill of Clooney-approved goodness.

Slimming World – The Five Best Savoury Snacks For Your Syns

Disclaimer: I thought long and hard (about 20 seconds worth of internal debating, it’s a lot for me) about adding cheese to this Slimming World list. Cheese is godly and is the supreme overlord of savouriness, but I didn’t think it fit in this post. Perhaps it should have its own? Or perhaps it’s too good to trivialise on a blog. Go buy some and healthy A the F out of it. Thanks for the kcals, cheese.

Only love for the chocolate, Amy? No savoury snacking? Shame on you! You’ve, many times, heard my assertions that chocolate and crisps should be bed buddies and eaten together. Not literally at the same time though, gross. Just one, then the lovely other. This is why I’m fat isn’t it? Ah well; read on everyone…

We’re on the wagon again. Yes, back at Slimming World again. Attending our local group with the new addition (he isn’t being weighed though) and hoping to shed as much as we can before our wedding on 15th November. It’s going to be a busy month or so for us, but we are prepared and we’re documenting our weight loss journey here. Again.

So how did our first week go? Pretty well.

Mac ‘n’ Cheese Slimming World Style

I am a rubbish blogger this week. I know, I’m really sorry but I’m back on it now with lots more planned! As the final weeks before maternity leave creep up on me, the amount of work in my real job has increased also, so I’ve been pretty lax. So sorry about that! This week’s #WeightLossWednesday post is a recipe – because we were so busy with Father’s Day related stuff we haven’t made it to weigh in. So I’m making it up to you and myself with a recipe for basically my favourite meal of all time. Mac n Cheese Slimming World Style!

It’s not the luminous yellow tinned stuff that I lived off when I was in university (I’m not sure if that’s good or bad, you can decide for yourselves!) but it’s my recipe that makes it incredibly friendly for those of us on Slimming World. There are tonnes of recipes out there and mine is but a variation, but it’s the way I like it made and whilst it’s not as creamy and cheesy as the ones we’re used to, it certainly does the trick for those of us trying to lose a few pounds!

Pregnant on Slimming World : Week 3

Disclaimer

Yes, I am pregnant on Slimming World. Slimming World is approved by the Royal College of Midwives as the ideal eating plan to follow whilst pregnant to give your baby all the nutrients they need and she signs off on my progress regularly. Before anyone starts panicking that I am (trying to) lose weight whilst carrying a baby, it is all above board and under the supervision of health professionals. Anyone who is pregnant and wanting to follow any kind of eating plan should always run it by their midwives first. I am playing it safe and so should you.

It’s that time of the week again, it’s #WeightLossWednesday and our usual Slimming World round up of the week. As most of you probably know, we get weighed on a Monday night but we save this until Wednesday – some weeks, that’s so we can let the disappointment sink in and bring ourselves round to talking about it.

This week, is not one of those weeks.

Pregnant on Slimming World

So today, for #WeightLossWednesday, our Pregnant On Slimming World update isn’t about weight loss at all, it’s about weight gain. My weight gain to be exact and why, even though I know why I’ve put on weight and why it shouldn’t bother me one little bit, it still does. Psychologically, I am chained to those scales.

By way of background, I have always had issues with my weight since I was a teenager. So many failed diets, so many attempts at so many things it took me until I was 25 to join Slimming World (for the third time) and do it properly. I got to a healthy 10 stone, the lightest I’d been in at least ten years and I was happy with myself. So I stopped going. I tried to go back a bunch of times but the motivation simply wasn’t there anymore, despite the fact every time I joined I was heavier than the last.
